LO2: Evidence of Filming

Below is a montage of clips showing of our group filming and directing our film.  This includes us setting up scenes, positioning the lighting, directing the actors, ensuring the camera is properly focused and placing the microphone on the correct settings.

 The two images above show the crew, with help from some of the cast, helping to start the fire needed for the beginning of our short film.

After experiencing problems with our original actors we had to replace them. Here is one of our original actors, Max, during the script's read through. Our replacement cast can be seen practising their lines in the 'Evidence of Filming' post.

LO1: Actor Correspondance

To find actors we put a request up on the South Yorkshire Film Network for actors that said:

 "ACTORS NEEDED. I am creating a short horror film for college and will be requiring three actors- two men and a girl. They will all need to be in their late teens/early twenties for the roles and will not getting paid, instead it will be something to add to your portfolio. If you're interested and would like more details, please message me."

Isa Wood responded first, Isa was previously a member of Fusion Youth Theatre and also happened to know our writer Maddie. Here are screenshots of Maddie's conversations with Isa in regards to playing Jess in the short film.

 

Our next response came from Connor Young who we cast as Stephen in the film, here are screenshots of his conversation with us and his showreel.

 


Max Marriott also responded and was cast as Dwayne in our film, here are screenshots of our conversation with him as well as an example of his work called 'Game Night'.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling errors our actors had to be replaced. Instead, we cast Elle Pindar, Lewis Peters and Tom Beech as Jess, Stephen and Dwayne respectively.

As our entire short film is set outdoors, we don't have to go to any great lengths to design our sets besides the arrangement of items like the tent and chairs. However, it is important to take in to account the area we are filming in and the space we can use. Because of that, below are some images taken whilst scouting out different locations.
